AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 "Takashi Murakami" Custom Sneakers

Vancouver sneaker enthusiast @604Cefiro recently showcased his one-of-a-kind custom AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, designed by the renowned Toronto-based sneaker customizer, KickzWToni. These exclusive kicks were inspired by the official RTFKT x Nike x Takashi Murakami Air Force 1 sneakers, which have taken the sneaker world by storm.

Anticipating the official RTFKT and Nike collaboration event that took place on April 24, 2023, @604Cefiro couldn't contain his excitement and decided to commission a personalized pair of sneakers ahead of time. The white colorway of the Yoon Ahn-designed AMBUSH x Nike Air Force 1, with its eye-catching floating Swoosh, served as the perfect canvas for @604Cefiro's custom creation. The floating Swoosh design was reminiscent of the animated RTFKT x Nike Dunk Genesis CryptoKicks, adding an extra touch of uniqueness to the sneakers.

To bring his vision to life, @604Cefiro enlisted the expertise of KickzWToni, who applied a leather paint and a matte sealant finish to the sneakers. This not only made the paint waterproof but also ensured its durability, making it resistant to bending and cracking.

The inspiration behind these custom sneakers can be traced back to RTFKT, a Nike-owned brand, that introduced its Clone X lookbook last year. The lookbook featured a range of collaborative digital Nike products, including ten Air Force 1s designed by the renowned Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami. Initially, these sneakers were only available digitally to those who owned the corresponding NFTs. However, RTFKT and Nike later made the AF1s redeemable to NFT holders during a limited-time Forging event from April 24 to May 8, exclusively on the RTFKT website.

Each limited edition sneaker from the Clone X collection draws inspiration from the ten DNA types found in RTFKT's Clone X avatar project, including Murakami's iconic Drip & DNA AF1s. These sneakers incorporate new materials and finishes, such as Black Hole Black, Lenticular, and Alien midsole wraps. Moreover, each pair features an embedded RTFKT WM Chip, seamlessly connecting the digital and physical worlds.

Although the NFTs for this groundbreaking collection are currently sold out, they can still be purchased on the secondary platform, OpenSea. However, acquiring a pair from this historic sneaker collection will require dedication and perseverance, as limited quantities are available for each design.
