Bay Area legend Berner has already conquered the rap game and the cannabis industry with his brand Cookies . Now, he's turning his attention to the film world with his debut movie Splash City . Co-directed with Alex Ferrufino and co-written with David Mansanalez , the gritty San Francisco crime thriller stars Reed Shannon , TJ Atoms , Christopher A'mmanuel , and Hazel Green . It follows two brothers Juju and Slim who are at a crossroads. While Slim eyes basketball as his ticket out, Juju gets pulled deeper into the city's smash-and-grab robbery scene under a backstabbing crew leader. Forced to navigate a world where loyalty quickly turns to betrayal, the brothers must choose between a brighter future and the violent streets that raised them. Splash City debuts in select theaters on July 20 via Lionsgate .
