Sharing a Special Moment: John Geiger's 004 Pastel Pack

John Geiger has been an important name in the independent luxury sneaker community for some time now. While the Pittsburgh-born designer first made a name for himself working in tandem with Nike and his childhood friend Darrell Revis to develop the Nike Zoom Revis 1 in 2012 and his 2015 viral custom “Misplaced Checks” project (in collaboration with The Shoe Surgeon) on the Nike Air Force 1, his success only continued to blossom with the launch of his own company, John Geiger Co., in 2017. Geiger produces its own high-end branded apparel, accessories, and, of course, sneakers. The company’s sneaker offerings have a well-deserved positive reputation for quality, meticulous craftsmanship, longevity, and style.

One of Geiger’s most popular silhouettes, the 004, is a low-top running sneaker that provides the wearer with all-day comfort due to an upper built from a custom mesh and a popcorn-style midsole made with a soft EVA foam. The 004 also delivers strong stability thanks to a KPU/TPU cage that provides a solid structure without uncomfortable rigidity. Limited edition colorways of the 004 often sell out quickly, despite the $240 price tag. This is not as surprising as it might seem because, while Geiger does not have the mainstream cultural cache that brands like Nike, Adidas, and Hoka do, customers quickly become loyal and know they are receiving a premium product for the premium price they pay.

On September 25th, Geiger will drop a 004 “Pastel Pack” including two monochromatic pairs: one a light, pastel blue, and the other a soft, rose pastel pink. The inspired release coincides with the announcement of John Geiger’s first child. The pairs release separately, and each comes with two lace options and a dust bag. While each pair features a color commonly associated with either a baby boy or a baby girl, both pairs come in unisex sizing. Geiger’s sneakers do not come in half-sizes, and the brand recommends that customers who wear in-between sizes go up to the next half-size.

The 004 Pastel Pack drops at 12PM EST via John Geiger’s online store for $240 USD each. As said, these limited offerings tend to sell quickly, so one would be wise to avoid hesitation in securing their pair(s) of choice.
