Dingyun Zhang x adidas Kouza Sneakers

Dingyun Zhang is expanding his collaboration with adidas Originals by introducing the Kouza, a new sneaker that features his forward-thinking blend of form and function. Dingyun Zhang describes his design philosophy, stating, "I'm obsessed with the idea of transformation, and how nothing is as it seems." He continues saying "the adidas Kouza embodies the oscillation between form and function while retaining elegance and style."

The shoe marks Dingyun Zhang's first original model with adidas, following his reinterpretation of the Samba. The Kouza draws inspiration from the 2008 Beijing Olympics Boxing Boot, featuring ventilated netting underlays and a mid silhouette with a prominent sole and exaggerated arch. Reflecting the designer's playful approach to proportions, the sneaker includes an oversized heel counter that extends over the pull tab.

The initial release of the Dingyun Zhang x adidas Kouza sneakers will include three colorways. A black variant with bright blue laces, a gray option accented with light blue and tan, and a predominantly white version with soft green underlays. Additionally, new colorways for the Dingyun Zhang x adidas Samba will also be launched in a tonal gray and a brown variant with contrasting orange and white details.

The Dingyun Zhang x adidas Kouza collection is set to drop on October 15 via adidas and select retailers.
