Vulcain Cricket Nautical Timepiece

Vulcain has announced that it will be reissuing its iconic Cricket Nautical timekeeper as a permanent addition to its modern lineup. The original Cricket Nautical was unveiled in 1961 and gained recognition for being the brand's only watch equipped with an aquatic alarm. This was made possible by its triple caseback construction, which acted as a resonance chamber, allowing the alarm chimes to be heard underwater.

The revived Cricket Nautical retains the stainless steel case with a triple caseback, maintaining the essence of its predecessor. The case has a 42mm size, providing ample space for the two superimposed dials, one fixed and one rotating. The watch features a matte-finished black color with a decompression table on the watch face.

In a first for the Cricket Nautical, the timepiece is now equipped with sapphire crystals, allowing a view of the Manufacture V-10 caliber from the caseback. An alternative version with a stainless steel caseback is also available. The watch comes with various strap options, including a black leather strap, a woven-textured strap, and a beige leather option.

The new Cricket Nautical reissue will be available in two versions: Black White Luminova and Black Beige Patina. It will be available for purchase on Vulcain's website starting September 21 at 4 p.m. EST, with a price tag of $4,862 USD.
