Bodega x ASICS GEL-NYC "After-Hours" Sneakers

Bodega and ASICS have collaborated to create a new sneaker model called the GEL-NYC "After-Hours", which pays homage to city life. The shoe combines elements from Asics' retro and performance running styles to create a durable and versatile design.

The upper of the GEL-NYC features nubuck and suede primer materials, providing both texture and durability. One unique design element is the triangular spacer mesh motif, which is inspired by city fences and not only keeps the wearer's foot secure but also allows for breathability.

The ASICS stripe on the medial side of the shoe blends with the surroundings, while the lateral side features a translucent iconic logo, representing the interconnectedness of city infrastructure. The midsole combines foam and GEL technology for optimal comfort and support. The shoe also includes co-branded details and a diamond knit collar lining for added structure.

The color palette of the GEL-NYC is inspired by various elements of city infrastructure. The Plum Truffle and Mole base coats resemble faded asphalt, while the Drizzle colored mesh represents infrastructural gray. Blazing Coral accents mimic the neon "OPEN" signs found in diners and other shops, while Patrician Purple and Caliste Green complete the color-blocking design.

According to Bodega, the design of the shoe was influenced by the environments of the cities that shaped them. The Bodega x ASICS GEL-NYC "After-Hours" will be released on September 29 as a limited edition quick strike release, available on Bodega's official site for $180 USD.
