Bay Area legend Berner has already conquered the rap game and the cannabis industry with his brand Cookies. Now, he's turning his attention to the film world with his debut movie Splash City.
Co-directed with Alex Ferrufino and co-written with David Mansanalez, the gritty San Francisco crime thriller stars Reed Shannon, TJ Atoms, Christopher A'mmanuel, and Hazel Green. It follows two brothers Juju and Slim who are at a crossroads. While Slim eyes basketball as his ticket out, Juju gets pulled deeper into the city's smash-and-grab robbery scene under a backstabbing crew leader. Forced to navigate a world where loyalty quickly turns to betrayal, the brothers must choose between a brighter future and the violent streets that raised them.
Splash City debuts in select theaters on July 20 via Lionsgate.
