Ebony Grace has released a stunning new music video for her song “Fall Back”. The video's director Tamas Levardi filmed in a raw guerilla style that he cleaned up beautifully. The creative synergy between these two artists allowed for the whole piece to be filmed in 18 hours.
Ebony Grace is a dynamic talent based in the UK who composes by folding piano, ukulele, fiddle, synthesizer into haunting, introspective ballads. She also fills her album, For the Time Being, with soft, yet emotionally devastating vocals and draws influence from David Bowie, Bjork, and My Chemical Romance.
What makes “Fall Back” such a special song is the sense of quiet, desperate anger brought by the conflicting doubts and fears that come with deeply loving the ideal of someone, but failing to meet the real challenges that come along with loving that someone.
The video rapidly cuts between the euphoric highs and low lows of a passionate, yet volatile love affair. There is no beginning or end to this relationship portrayed by Ebony Grace and Thomas Voce-Siriani, but the ethereal shots of Grace covered in blood and standing on a seaside cliff tell us that serious damage had been done.
The final result is visually stunning and deeply moving, yet award-winning short film director Tamas Levardi kept the shooting process as simple and practical as possible. Using only a handful of lenses and mounts, he was able to get every shot of the video using 100% natural light. After developing the idea and scouting locations, he and his two actors worked from sunrise to well after dark to achieve fabulous results.
Grace will be performing live at the Brunswick Pub in Brighton on August 20th at 7:30 pm. Within the excitement of the release of her first video, it's certain to be a great show.
