In honor of its 40th anniversary, Marc Jacobs has teamed up with renowned Japanese designer NIGO to unveil a modernized version of the Superman sweater, originally launched in the 1990s. The bright blue pullover has been reimagined with a luxurious blend of alpaca and wool. The sweater features the classic Superman shield prominently on the front, while the back features the Marc Jacobs logo.
Marc Jacobs and NIGO are no strangers to collaboration, having first worked together in 2004 on Louis Vuitton's Millionaire sunglasses alongside Pharrell. Their latest partnership continues a series of special-edition archival collaborations to celebrate Marc Jacobs' milestone year. Recently, the brand also collaborated with Cactus Plant Flea Market to rework the Smiley sweater from 1985.
The NIGO x Marc Jacobs "Superman" sweater is available now through a lottery system on the Marc Jacobs Japan webstore, with a retail price of ¥78,100 JPY (approximately $495 USD).
