Caraday "Spotlight EyeZ & Monster Torment Together" Purse Collection Lookbook

Atlanta, Georgia-based designer DAY has unveiled the upcoming inaugural release for his brand Caraday with his limited edition purse collection. The Caraday "Spotlight EyeZ & Monster Torment Together" is a collection of hand-painted purses designed by DAY, inspired by his art style and his personal experience with social anxiety.

During his senior year of high school, DAY was given a unique opportunity. One of his classmates' mothers had heard about his custom servicing and artistic ability, and she commissioned him to work on a batch of 10 purses with complete creative freedom. With this exciting project in front of him, DAY dove into brainstorming and sketching, searching for the perfect concept and design.

As he explored various ideas and sources of inspiration, DAY stumbled upon an article titled "Monsters: Not Under The Bed But Inside Of Our Head" by The Red Ledger. This, combined with his own struggles with social anxiety, sparked the idea to base the purse designs around this mental issue. DAY wanted to shed light on this often-misunderstood condition through wearable art.

And so, the first design, Ojos X Spotlight EyeZ, was born. It represents the spotlight that social anxiety can cast on one's every move, the feeling of being watched and judged. The second design, Caraday's MonsterZ, portrays the inner monsters that social anxiety can create, the torment that one may experience in their mind.
