In a highly-anticipated collaboration, Joe Freshgoods has once again joined forces with New Balance to create a captivating collection centered around the iconic 990v4 silhouette. Following their successful limited-edition 650 "STUNTMAN" model, this new release draws inspiration from Hype Williams' 1998 crime drama, Belly.
Joe Freshgoods took to Instagram to offer a sneak peek of the new 990v4 sneakers, revealing the names of the three colorways: "Intro & Keisha Blue & Outro '1998'." Departing from his usual vibrant palette, Freshgoods opts for a more subdued approach, with a blend of blacks, whites, greys, and a monochromatic blue finish for the "Keisha Blue" design.
The collection showcases a captivating mix of textures, combining mesh, suede, and leather fabrics in the shoe's construction. Notably, the 990 iconography is replaced by the "JFG" logo on the lateral heel, while the back of the design proudly displays the lettering "1998" and "Made in the U.S.A."
In addition to the sneakers, Joe Freshgoods' collaboration with New Balance will also feature a range of apparel items inspired by popular streetwear styles from the same era as Williams' acclaimed film.
Although an official release date for the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v4 collection has yet to be announced, fans can expect its arrival before the year's end. Explore the captivating range in the gallery below for a closer look at this highly-anticipated collaboration.
