notwoways Model 1 "Mokka" Sneakers

London-based footwear label notwoways continues to make strides in expanding its offerings as we enter the new year. To conclude 2023, the brand is revisiting its origins with the highly anticipated release of the Model 1 "Mokka." Co-founders Callum McGinley and Rockwell Princely, known for drawing inspiration from the vibrant streets of London, recall a sneaker mishap that inspired this unique iteration.

The story behind the Model 1 "Mokka" stems from a nightmare coffee spillage incident that occurred on McGinley's Model 1 "Syzygy." The unfortunate accident resulted in a sneaker infused with coffee-like hues, creating a visually striking design. This narrative is beautifully portrayed through the packaging, which features thematic boxing adorned with brown liquid splotches and a custom metal latte art stencil.

Upon unboxing, the shoes reveal a captivating combination of brown, black, and cream tones. Supple leather dresses the toe boxes and medials in a creamy hue, while energetic brew-inspired suede accentuates the mudguards, creating a dynamic visual effect. Black accents add depth to the rear of the shoes, while additional laces and two-toned hang tags contribute to the overall design. The sneakers are elevated by wavy midsoles and textured rubber bottoms, showcasing notwoways' meticulous attention to detail.
