Australian retailer Up There has teamed up with Japanese sportswear brand ASICS to create a stunning new footwear project. Building on their previous successful collaboration, which featured a floral ASICS GT-II, this latest venture pays homage to the kookaburra, a fascinating bird native to Australia and New Guinea. The chosen silhouette for this collaboration is the iconic GEL-LYTE III.

Influenced by the kookaburra's distinctive laugh, the design of the shoe showcases a premium combination of mesh and suede materials, resulting in a vibrant and colorful upper. The color palette transitions from off-white to brown, starting at the toe and gradually darkening towards the heel. Striking stripe and splatter patterns are located at the midfoot, adding visual interest and depth to the overall design.

Drawing inspiration from the bird's bright blue feathers, this hue is prominently featured on the shoe's lateral branding, patterned rope laces, and rubber outsole. A white and off-white midsole completes the design, creating a harmonious balance between the vibrant upper and the more neutral sole.
