How Long Gone x Pacific Tote Company Bag Collection

How Long Gone, the popular "bi-coastal elite" podcast hosted by Chris Black and Jason Stewart, has recently unveiled an exciting collaboration with Pacific Tote Company, a revered small-batch tote bag brand. This collaboration introduces a collection of limited-edition tote bags and pouches that embody the essence of California, where Pacific Tote Company is based.

Pacific Tote Company, founded in 2012 by Roman Coppola and The Directors Bureau Special Projects, is known for creating bags that are designed for everyday life, using the finest heavy-duty canvas available. Over the years, they have collaborated with notable brands and personalities such as Beams, Alexa Chung, Martha Stewart, and D.S. + Durga. Now, they have joined forces with How Long Gone to create a collection that reflects their shared love for vibrant colors and functional design.

The collaboration kicks off with the Big Sur Tote, a spacious bag featuring a zipper closure, heavy canvas construction, and meticulous stitching details. The bag's blue and green colorway aligns with the signature colors of How Long Gone and Pacific Tote Company. The Big Sur Tote is designed for everyday use and comes in a striking cobalt blue shade with a green strap. In the center, you'll find a subtle co-branded motif that represents the collaboration between How Long Gone and Pacific Tote Company.

Photographer Cobey Arner beautifully captured the new collection, featuring Emma Burke, a librarian at Brooklyn Emerging Leaders Academy in Bed Stuy, who is also a friend of the podcast.

In a conversation with Hypebeast, Chris Black expressed the importance of disconnecting from technology and immersing oneself in a different world. He emphasized the significance of tote bags and their original purpose, which was to carry books. Jason Stewart added that they wanted to bring back the idea of totes for books, as bookstores offer a unique experience that cannot be replicated online.

The collection also includes a corresponding pouch bag, featuring a bold blue foundation with a green zipper. Custom-fit for the purpose of How Long Gone, these pieces are designed to carry podcasting equipment, cigarettes, pens, pencils, and even serve as a perfect size for an iPad, catering to the needs of digital nomads.
