The brand was founded by Veerachai Duangpla, a renowned Thai illustrator and artist known as "The Duang" or "The King in the Black." Duang's passion for art began at a young age, inspired by his father, a professional comic artist. Despite struggling to focus in school, he discovered his love for drawing and it quickly became an obsession.

At the age of eight, Duang completed his first comic and received positive feedback from his friends, which motivated him to continue honing his skills. While pursuing a degree in Visual Communication in Art and Design, he submitted his work to a publisher and eventually got his first comic book, Clart Room, published.

In 2010, Duang's comic series, The Story Begins With…, won the Silver Award at the International Manga Award. He then started collaborating with LET'S Comic, one of Thailand's leading comic publishers, and his works began to gain popularity nationwide.

Duang's illustrations are known for their satirical and philosophical nature, often addressing societal issues. He draws inspiration from various sources, including folklore, Dragon Ball Z, Tim Burton, One Piece, and Marvel. His works have led to collaborations with major brands such as Netflix, Zippo, Procreate, Apple, Bodyslam, and others in the toy and clothing industries.

In 2014, Duang's brother and co-founder of Gangster All Star, Jokerspite, suggested the idea of creating a Gangster Universe, which led to the creation of the comic series Blackboy. This marked the beginning of Duang's exploration into the gangster world.

In 2021, Duang delved into the world of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), seeing the potential for artistic freedom and reaching a wider audience of collectors. He released his first NFT collection, "Dark SCHOKOLATE," featuring characters from his 2009 comic Shockolate. This was followed by the release of the genesis collection of Gangster All Star.

With the ambition of creating his magnum opus, Duang sees Gangster All Star as his swan song, a literary work he intends to dedicate the rest of his life to. It will serve as a tribute to his past, present, and future fans, showcasing his experience and expertise.
