Daruda Trading Co. "Engraved Band No. 1" Ring

Vancouver, British Columbia-based jewelry brand Daruda Trading Co. recently debuted their sterling silver Engraved Band No. 1 ring, designed by the brand's co-founder and lead designer Nico Daruda.

Nico's vision for the Engraved Band No. 1 ring was to create a piece that not only boasted a maximalist texture but was also incredibly comfortable to wear. The unique texture of the ring serves a dual purpose, as it also functions as a fidget device. The ring features four distinct textures, each carefully segmented on the band. The textures are a delightful combination of geometric and free-flowing shapes, meticulously hand-carved by Nico onto jeweler's wax before being cast into sterling silver.

While Daruda Trading Co. receives considerable acclaim for their other products, which they place a greater emphasis on, the creation of rings allows the brand to indulge in their creative expression and explore exciting and playful designs. However, this wasn't always the case. Rings used to be the bread and butter for Daruda Trading Co., but the founders eventually found themselves burnt out by the demands of this particular jewelry item. It was then that they seized an opportunity to shift their focus towards piercing jewelry, which became their primary focus for the past year.

Recently, however, the talented team at Daruda Trading Co. has rekindled their passion for creating rings. With no pressure and a renewed sense of enthusiasm, Nico has been able to focus on the fabrication process and experiment with fresh ideas.
