Luxury audio manufacturer Bang & Olufsen traces its roots back to the small Danish town of Struer, where it was founded almost a century ago. Today, Struer is still the home of the brand's global headquarters and houses Factory 5, one of the on-site factories responsible for experimenting with and perfecting the use of aluminium in their products over the past seventy years.

Factory 5 is also where Bang & Olufsen's skilled artisans craft bespoke pieces, such as the Atelier range, and hand-finish their latest speaker, the Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminium. This speaker is the result of years of experimentation and craftsmanship, showcasing the brand's dedication to quality and innovation.

In an industry where chrome and nickel were the norm, Bang & Olufsen took the bold step of exploring aluminium in 1955. Today, Factory 5 continues to transform raw aluminium into highly sought-after audio products. The Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminium features a grille constructed from over 3,500 anodized aluminium discs, lending the speaker its unique two-tone appearance. With its quadruple onboard drivers, the speaker provides 360-degree immersive sound. Each of the four drivers has been custom-designed and individually amplified, resulting in a meticulously reproduced, consistent, and nuanced sound profile. The heart of the speaker houses two full-range 50mm drivers, accompanied by a solo 20mm tweeter and a substantial 130mm bass driver.

The launch of the Beosound A5 Spaced Aluminium introduces new functionality through a software update. The first update, called Automatic Stereo Pairing, enables users with two A5 speakers to effortlessly pair them for a stereo sound experience. The second update, scheduled for early 2024, further enhances the stereo pairing feature. With the Fluid Sweet Spot functionality, users can tap a single button in the B&O app to inform the speakers of their position in the room, allowing for automatic adjustment and optimal sound output.

Connectivity options for the Beosound A5 are comprehensive, including Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, native support for streaming services like Apple's AirPlay 2, Chromecast, and hi-resolution platforms like Spotify and Tidal. The speaker can be powered via USB-C or operated wirelessly with its built-in battery, providing up to 12 hours of playback. Additionally, a Qi wireless charging pad is integrated into the top of the speaker, ensuring convenience for users.
