Porsche x Duotone "Pink Pig" Kite and Board

Porsche and Duotone have once again teamed up to create a new limited-edition kite and board set, following the success of their previous collaboration. This time, the design inspiration comes from the iconic Porsche 917/20 coupé, a legendary motorsport car that was designed to conquer Le Mans in 1971.

The Porsche 917/20 coupé gained fame not only for its technical prowess, but also for its eye-catching appearance. Adorned in a vibrant pink livery, the racing car quickly earned the nicknames "Pink Pig" and "Big Berta." Drawing from the striking aesthetic of this model, the special-edition Duotone set features a soft pink hue with red track lines and typography throughout.

In a nod to the 917/20's heritage, the board proudly displays the car's original starting number, 23, while the kites feature various iterations of the number, all presented in a vintage cursive font. The attention to detail in the design ensures that the motorsport-inspired pieces exude a sense of nostalgia and style.

Beyond aesthetics, the collaboration between Porsche and Duotone represents the fusion of design and technology. Duotone utilizes high-spec Evo SLS technology and materials to construct the kite, resulting in a weight reduction of up to 15% compared to other models. The improved Flex Struts design enhances maneuverability, providing the performance and control that this motorsport-inspired piece deserves.

According to Thomas Kaiser, Duotone's marketing director, the collaboration with Porsche is not just about creating a visually stunning product, but also about delivering unparalleled performance. The partnership aims to showcase the synergy between Porsche's design expertise and Duotone's kite technology, resulting in a masterpiece that excels in both form and function.

In addition to their shared passion for kitesurfing, Porsche and Duotone are committed to promoting the sport and supporting aspiring kitesurfers. As part of the collaboration, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to Young Blood, a youth support program established by Duotone. This program offers aspiring kitesurfers the necessary resources and guidance to pursue their dreams, including training courses, sponsorships, and social media support.
